“Wound” by Scott Sparks

Old wounds are tightly wound
Perhaps hidden; however, never truly bound
Unbidden, they remain a color-stained featurette
Please describe your pain level from one to ten
The pages of my rages are tell-tale of this
Old wounds are frightfully wound
Water-logged till rightfully drowned
Detours along contours of a journey unplanned
Please describe your pain level from one to ten
The pages of my rages are tell-tale of this
Scars could be construed as wounds still in the womb
Freshly flayed despite dismay long overdue
Their gestation digesting what’s manifested in the interim
Please describe your pain level from one to ten
These pages of my rages are tell-tale explicit
