“Handkerchief” by Scott Sparks

Surround yourself with loneliness
You must be looking for a shoulder again
Oh the pain… I feel sorry for someone else
Not you again… was that your best bet?
A lifetime of tragedy for moments of ecstasy
What’s really flowing through your veins?
Maybe it’s better that I don’t know
Just keep searching for that fleeting glow
It’s your time to shine
Or do you decline again?
Oh the shame… you’ve got more issues than a magazine
Find someone to blame… since that’s your game
There are no words to cut you deep enough
You must’ve lost feeling at some point anyhow
I’d hate to see for myself the wreckage down below
So go to your knees and grope for the fleeting glow
There must be something unsatisfying
Is that why you keep crying?
Shamefully you’re once again denied
It doesn’t count when you steal the prize
At least now you know
If not, then there’s always your fleeting glow
