“No Avail” by Scott Sparks

Letters that I’ve never sent
Folded in sequence
Save your stamp, pay the rent
Or is that your best defense?
Why should I extend
Myself or what’s in my pen?
Save what’s left
Pay the man
Succumb to the cold welcoming me in
The darkness doesn’t blind my braille
I can still feel where I’ve failed
Pay the toll
No avail
