“Untold” by Scott Sparks

The scars under my sleeves need not to breathe
Their presence is the essence of my victory
But stories told of battle only glorify gold of which shatters
Nor do they add to rather be forgotten travesties traveled
As if the re-telling of conquered madness
Causes a narrative told passionate to be anything short of hazardous
While regret nips at heels dug in and dead set on getting past it
Might as well switch brands, get your hands on improved ink to better novel your chapters
Turning the page on past rages and multiple offenses
No longer to be trapped in cages and cul-de-sacs unbendingly endless
And the wearing of these scars used to be like trophies to me
Now I see their presence is the essence of my victory
